Mood of the week

January 30, 2007

I’m sure you’ve run into the infamous writer’s block. I’m not sure if this is a form of that. I have scheduled times during my day when I write my story. From time to time, I find that I’m not in the proper mood to write. I find that when I’m in the right mood (which usually is easy to get into because I enjoy the genre I write) I can write a lot and that the pen just flows. When I’m not in the right mood, I find that I don’t want to write and don’t get much written. Being in the wrong mood is usually associated with my lack of sleep. I believe sleep lets your brain sort out the events of the day. Kind of like cleaning off your desk at the end of the day and filing all the papers in the correct cabinets. When you brain has had it’s chance to clean up, you wake up refreshed and able to work on new things. I believe when you don’t get your sleep, when you wake up, your brain is still filing the information from the previous day which disrupts your clear thinking.

Things to remember

January 26, 2007

Today I am foolish. I have forgotten my access card to get into work. Unfortunately I happen to be one of the first people to arrive at work and as it happens to be, our corporate culture doesn’t start very early in the morning which means I probably have a long wait.

On the good side, I am one of those wireless freaks and have all of my digital world at my fingertips. I have internet access, company access, remote control access, shell access, software access. Just about everything that I could possibly need for working except my desk, phone, and a comfortable chair.

Confessions

January 25, 2007

I have to confess: I have not been a very good blogger lately. (Hardly a surprise to those reading this.) I find that my days are rather full. Instead of long and deep conversations all the time, I will start making an attempt to put in a few words each day.
